Any idea about the latest craze for pet owners? Well, a new breed of cat that looks like Wolverine one of the main X-Men character shook the world of animal kingdom.
The werewolf-like cat Lykoi is a natural mutated specie from domesticated shorthair. A new breed of canine that resembles the Marvel character played by the actor Hugh Jackman.
It is now reproduced by group of breeders led by Tennessee-based Lykoi specialist Johnny Gobble and his family.
The vet concluded that the Lykois began as a mixture of natural mutation between the Sphynx cat and black domestic shorthair. The first kitten was born in July 2010.
"The mutation has occurred in other cats, but to date, no reports of anyone starting a breed have been made," he said.
Expert examined the cat to ensure that their unusual fur is not signs of disease.
The result, some hair follicles lacked all the necessary components required to create hair, which is why Lykoi lack an undercoat. A clear evidence that a new type of cat has been born.
