As the way to resist fare increases of MRT, LRT1 and LRT2, some militant groups striked collectively and filed a petition in the Supreme Court to issue a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) stopping it.
Just around 7 A.M., the militant group gathered under Recto LRT Station 2.
The group cried over unfairly to almost a 100% increase in fares on the MRT, LRT 1 and 2.
- Right now, the previous P15 fare from MRT North Avenue Station to Taft Avenue, has just gotten P28.
- Boarding from Recto to LRT 2 Santolan Station, the fare would be P25.
- While P30 from Roosevelt Avenue to Baclaran with the LRT 1.
Thus, having their placards and tarpaulin, group asked the Department of Transportation and Communication to withdraw the mandated extra fares.
The group marched to the Supreme Court and filed a petition for issuance of a temporary restraining order to stop the high fares.
According to the Secretary General of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan, Renato Reyes, fare increase was illegal and said DOTC Sec. Abaya has no power to raise fares on the train when it is not first subjected to public hearing.
Anyway guys, how about you? Is it really appropriate to make fare hikes without right and just from every Filipino commuters?
Well, if you ask me all I can say is that, those who stand at the top of government determine what's wrong and what's right!
The sad thing is, when it goes up. It will never go down.
