The local city government of Makati gave persons with disability (PWDs) an opportunity to utilize their ability and get hired to work in Makati City Hall.
This statements are in accordance with the decision of Acting Makati City Mayor Romulo "Kid" Peña, Jr. because he believes disability is not an hindrance to anybody who have a dream building their future through a rightful employment. "Kid" Peña opens the city hall to all PWDs who wants to have a job.
According to city information officer Teodoro Reyes, there are 25 newly-hired PWDs in Makati City Hall, that include seven casual employees and 18 under job orders.
The newly appointed staff of the Makati City Hall were assigned to promote advocacy that promote the rights of PWDs which include in the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons or Republic Act 9442.
The PWD group headed by Makati PWD Federation President Errol Barba were grateful on "Kid" Peña's initiative that provides an equal treatment for people with disability.
