The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reminds private employers to release the 13th month pay of their workers no later than the 24th of December of the current year.

Every employers are required and accountable to give a 13th month pay to all rank-and-file employees. This ruling is regardless of each employment and payment method of their salaries. Any workers can be accommodated with the 13th month bonus, as long as they are already employed at least one month of the current year, explained by Labor Sec. Silvestre Bello III.
The 13th month pay is the standard in law-making, failure of paying it to a deserving worker is a sure violation. The law states that the private sector must fulfill such obligation to benefit of workers.
Moreover, the Sec. Silvestre Bello III stated that the payment of 13th month pay is in accordance of the Labor Code of the Philippines. It covers all rulings and regulations of its implementation.
