The Department of Health confirmed that the Saudi national whom positive for the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) coronavirus that recently confined on the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Muntinlupa was already succumbed to death.
According to Health Secretary Janette Garin, it was September 29 when the victim passed away.
After that serious situation, those 12 healthcare workers who took care of the victim said were negative from MERS-CoV. Although, such healthcare workers are still place under quarantine. Healthcare workers will be subject for daily review within 14 days to ensure that they disinfect from the MERS virus.
